ABOUT THE LAW OFFICES OF JUDD M. PATTON
The Law Offices of Judd M. Patton was founded by Judd M. Patton, a patent attorney specializing in patent preparation and prosecution. Judd’s practice includes drafting, filing, and prosecuting U.S., PCT, national stage, and international patent applications.
Judd works side by side with inventors and reviews invention disclosure statements. He helps investigate new product developments and aids in identifying potential design-around opportunities with entrepreneurs, engineers, and other technical staff.
Judd works both with individual inventors and large companies alike. Judd's experience includes preparing and prosecuting patents related to the mechanical and electrical arts including fishing equipment, small appliances, pumps, water filtration systems, water conduits and flow control mechanisms, negative pressure and vacuum devices, stationery and packaging products, lighting systems, construction and building tools, and IoT devices for data network integration.
Before founding The Law Offices of Judd M. Patton, Judd worked in a boutique patent prosecution firm where he honed his craft. His practice involved patent prosecution, patent litigation, patent portfolio due diligence, and the preparation of noninfringement, invalidity, patentability, and freedom-to-operate opinions for utility and design patents.
Judd’s law firm experience and previous education provide him with a unique perspective in understanding the business goals as well as the technical details of his clients’ inventions.
Judd is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is admitted to the practice of law in the state of California. He is a member of numerous legal organizations including the California State Bar Association and the National Association of Patent Practitioners (NAPP).
